Destination: Dermatology

As you may know, I am a Dermatologist based in London, but I’ve been lucky enough to find myself travelling all over the globe recently, doing something that I’m truly passionate about. I’m only just over halfway through my season of international lectures and events, but I thought I’d touch base with you all to give you an update on my travels.

Barcelona & Geneva

In late August I was thrilled to join the faculty at the 5 Continent Congress on Lasers and Aesthetic Medicine in Barcelona. The Spanish capital is such a beautiful city and the event itself was truly insightful. I believe in the importance of continued learning and development within my field to allow for the most innovative expert treatments and services.

That’s why I immerse myself in as many events like this as I possibly can. But my real travels this Autumn didn’t begin until I flew to Geneva for the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. Taking place from September 13th-17th, this marked a special occasion for me as this was my first talk at a major international conference. I was thrilled to have been invited to give 3 lectures on lasers and fillers, including how to administer safe filler injections and managing dermal filler complications.

Kiev, Azerbaijan and Georgia

From here, Kiev was my next stop. It was an honour for me to be personally invited by the President of the Ukraine Laser Association to give two talks at the Expert Laser Meeting. I also found time to share my knowledge and train my eager Ukrainian colleague, Dr. Maria Tryfonova, in regards to the PicoWay laser. With barely time to catch my breath, I found myself in Azerbaijan from September 24th to give a full day masterclass on lasers at the Four Seasons Hotel, followed by a day of laser training. September came to an end in Tbilisi, Georgia, for further laser talks and training.

Marbella, more Barcelona, and Zurich!

I kicked October off in style in sunny Marbella as part of the fantastic team at the Syneron Candela Academy. Being a part of Europe’s top aesthetics and body shaping event was such a humbling and rewarding experience, working alongside my colleagues to share our knowledge and expertise regarding the latest products, technologies and services. I gave numerous lectures throughout the event, including a talk on the challenges of vascular laser treatment. Fast forward to October 20th and I couldn’t wait to get stuck into the World Experts Meeting as I returned to beautiful Barcelona. Feeling inspired, I was excited to head to the University of Zurich for my guest lecture on lasers on October 26th.

I’ve still got so much more to look forward to before the year is up, including trips to Egypt, Russia, Kazakhstan and Romania! Be sure to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and stay up-to-date with the travels of a London Dermatologist!
