Guest Editorial in Prime Journal

Dr Al-Niaimi was recently asked to write a piece for Prime Journal, an international journal of aesthetic and anti-ageing medicine. The Prime Journal reviews and discusses all of the latest developments within the dermatological and cosmetic surgery field with the most experienced and talented professionals.

Within his article, Dr Al-Niaimi discusses the advancement of laser technology over the past 50 years, and how this technology is being harnessed for use in dermatology and plastic surgery. Over the latter half of the twentieth century the usage of lasers has increased, as laser technology has increased. We can now use lasers with a range of wavelengths, as well as different pulsations; different types of lasers can be used to treat a variety of conditions with innovative, non-invasive methods.

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2015 was awarded to the inception and development of LED lights, which can be used in a variety of dermatological processes, as well as muscle healing and therapy. Laser technology is now commonly used as a treatment for body contouring, which is a intensive surgical procedure without lasers, but only a minimally invasive procedure with the use of today’s advanced laser platforms.

Dr Al-Niaimi is very excited about the future of laser technology, and the revolutionary role they will play in the advancements of cosmetic dermatology and medical development.
