Ageing Skin Treatment London 3rd April 2019

HIFU With Dr Firas

The process of ageing can wreak havoc on the skin, but thanks to technological advancement, the complexion can be restored to its former glory without the need for costly surgical interventions- such as face lifts, which require long and painful periods of downtime. HIFU, also known as High Intensity Focused Ultrasound, is a groundbreaking treatment for lifting the skin of the face and neck, and is increasingly popular with patients at Dr Firas Al-Niami’s Harley Street clinic who are looking for a skin rejuvenation solution without the drawbacks of surgery.

Improving Ageing Skin

As a rejuvenal treatment, HIFU has a host of benefits for the skin. With results lasting up to a year, the skin will appear visibly lifted and tightened in just one session. HIFU stimulates the production of collagen, a naturally occurring protein that is responsible for maintaining skin health from within. With levels of collagen boosted, the skin is better able to repair itself from wear and tear, resulting in a smoother texture, lift, and a youthful glow. HIFU can be used to target specific areas of the skin, such as the jowls, brow, or neck, or for a more general rejuvenation.

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound

During the treatment, ultrasound energy is used to stimulate the deeper layers of support within the skin. This creates a tauter, firmer, more youthful looking appearance, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles and lifting areas of sagging skin in addition to providing a boost to collagen production. HIFU is most suitable for patients who are beginning to notice skin laxity and wish to delay the process of ageing, correcting damage that is already apparent and minimising the chance of further sagging or wrinkling. For patients with severe skin laxity, HIFU is not recommended. During your consultation, Dr Firas will be able to suggest alternative treatments that may produce better results if this is the case.
